The DSSSB (Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board) conducts recruitment exams for three primary teaching categories in Delhi government schools, each defined by the level of education and subject specialization required. The Primary Teacher (PRT) role is responsible for the foundational education of students in Classes 1 to 5, The Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) teaches specialized subjects to students in Classes 6 to 10 (Middle and Secondary School). Finally, the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) is the senior-level educator who teaches highly specialized subjects to Classes 11 and 12 (Senior Secondary).

Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens to be eligible to apply for any DSSSB teaching post.

  • Age Limit: The maximum age limit varies by post: 30 years for PRT, 32 years for TGT, and 36 years for PGT (with age relaxations for reserved categories).

Section A: General/Common (100 Marks)

  3. Arithmetical & Numerical Ability

  4. Hindi Language and Comprehension

  5. English Language and Comprehension

Section B: Subject Specific (100 or 200 Marks)

This section tests the professional knowledge required for the specific post:

  • PRT (100 Marks): Focuses heavily on Teaching Methodology, Child Development, Pedagogy, Inclusive Education, and educational policies (like NEP-2020), relevant to primary teaching.

  • TGT (100 Marks): Tests the candidate’s proficiency in their chosen Graduation-level subject (e.g., Maths, English, Social Science) along with teaching methodology (B.Ed. level).

  • PGT (200 Marks): Assesses the depth of knowledge in the candidate’s Post-Graduation level subject along with its specific teaching pedagogy.

Candidates are typically required to score minimum qualifying marks in both Section A and Section B separately to be considered for the final merit list.
